EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants took a risk when they released tight end Jake Ballard, who will be recovering this season after tearing his ACL.
Coach Coughlin said he thought Ballard would be healthy and willing to come back for the 2013 season. However, after being released, Ballard was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots.
Ballard was, of course, a key member of the Giants' Super Bowl season. He scored four touchdowns and had more than 600 yards receiving.
