UNITED STATES -- Dozens of incoming and outgoing flights have been cancelled at Albany International Airport due to the storm, and that could increase as the day goes on. Thousands of flights in New York, Philadelphia, Washington and other major northeast airports have also been cancelled.
Airline officials say you should check your flight's status before you head to the airport. If you're already at the airport when your flight gets cancelled, call customer service as opposed to standing in line. Officials say you're more likely to be helped over the phone before speaking to someone in person.
Several airlines also task employees with monitoring Facebook and Twitter feeds, so try asking for help there as well.
Most airlines have waved the fees for changing your flight because of the storm, but keep in mind that several airlines will only waive this fee once. You also may need to pay the difference in price if you change your ticket.
If you decide to cancel your booking, airlines might offer vouchers for a future , but you can ask for cash instead.
