ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany County District Attorney David Soares welcomed members of law enforcement from afar. Members of Qatar military police and law enforcement met with local law enforcement in Albany.

Soares says it doesn't matter what country you are coming from, members of law enforcement are all a part of the same system. He says the meeting allows them to share ideas and learn from one another.

"There are many folks coming from overseas to understand our way of doing work. There is also a lot we can learn from the folks coming over. Understanding how culture impacts and process of the system of justice," said Soares.

Soares says the U.S. has long been known to be a leader in crime scene investigations, which helps people from overseas understand how they work.
