ALBANY, N.Y. -- Governor Andrew Cuomo has introduced what he's calling several significant modifications to his 2013 budget.

The budget amendments involve issues ranging from post Sandy mitigation to the state's Medicaid reimbursement rate to, most notably, teacher evaluations.

While 99 percent of New York schools passed teacher evaluation plans, New York City did not.

At a press conference, the Governor introduced an amendment allowing the state education commissioner to put a plan in place for New York City schools. Cuomo emphasized that this amendment is not a onetime fix.

"This is not just for this year. Any year that New York City does not have a plan in place, then SED [[State Education Department]] would come in a put the plan in place," Cuomo said.

Cuomo says the amendment ensures that New York City students won't lose out on $250 million in aid.
