MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- Residents will head back to the polls today to decide the makeup of the new Board of Education for the newly merged St. Johnsville-Oppenheim-Ephratah school district.

The merger between the districts was approved in a vote last month. Cuts to programs and staff were among the reasons for the merger.

The combined district is getting $14 million in incentive aid as a result of merging together.

Today, residents will vote on how many members should be on the new board and how long members will serve per term.

In March, voters will elect the new members for the board. A vote on the first budget for the combined district will take place in May.
