ALBANY, N.Y. -- Gun enthusiasts are heading to Albany this weekend for the gun show at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. This show comes nearly two weeks after Governor Cuomo signed the New York SAFE Act into law.

Under the law, there are restrictions on the sale of guns and certain types of ammunition. The SAFE Act also updated the state’s assault weapons ban of 1994 and limits high-capacity magazines from 10 bullets to seven.

A gun show was held earlier this month in Saratoga Springs, but not without controversy. Many people protested, saying the show shouldn't take place after the Newtown, Connecticut shooting.

Despite the contention, organizers say a record number of people attended the event. The Albany gun show begins tomorrow and will go through Sunday.
