TROY, N.Y. -- One local church is doing what it can to make sure kids stay warm, knowing later this week will be even colder.

The Missing Link AME Zion Church handed out gloves, scarves and hats to families in need.

"We see a lot of kids walking the street that don't have hats, gloves or scarves or anything to put on their heads. So not only today, even after today when it's all over, they can always stop by and get free gloves, scarves, hats and blankets and anything that will make their live a little more bearable," said Rev. Willie Bacote.

They also served hot meal for both breakfast and dinner to warm people's spirits.
