ALBANY, N.Y. -- Schenectady County Community College has a new partner: Downtown Albany.

Albany County and SCCC officials announced a new partnership and plan to build classroom space for SCCC's new downtown Albany location at 112 State Street. The agreement allows the college to offer courses and new options for its students

SCCC President Dr. Quintin Bullock says this expansion is just the beginning.

"SCCC will utilize about 10,000 square feet to provide quality educational experiences to greater numbers of students and is the first step in our expansion in creating a formal extension center in Albany County," Bullock said.

Officials call this a win-win. SCCC can expand its base and Albany can benefit from the economic impacts.

Courses will begin at the new location in the fall.
