NEW YORK CITY -- The high-speed commuter ferry that crashed into a lower Manhattan dock Wednesday had recently undergone a major overhaul. The ferry had a new propulsion system and new engines.
The catamaran Seastreak Wall Street had slowed following a trip across New York Bay when the impact took place.
11 people were seriously injured.
Transportation officials say it’s too early to tell if the new equipment had anything to do with the accident.
