ALBANY, N.Y -- It may be early in the season, but UAlbany freshman forward Shareesha Richards is starting to make a play for potential Rookie of the Year honors.

Richards is picking up her fourth America East Rookie of the Week honor. She helped the Danes get off to a 2-0 start in conference play. Last week in games against UMBC and Binghamton she averaged 15 points and 8.5 rebounds.

Richards shot a red hot 76 percent from the floor last week and had her first career double double, 12 points and 11 rebounds.

UAlbany's next game is on Saturday when they host Maine.
