RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A family of four is displaced after a fire at their home and a market on Partition Street in Rensselaer. Fire officials say the fire started at Win's Market around 9 a.m.
The building has the market on the first floor and a home on the second floor. Firefighters were able to get the fire under control, but the building was damaged.
"I don't know how the fire started, that's still under investigation. On arrival we had the fire at the back of the building and of course our guys went to work right away and we got in there and made a good stop," said Fire Chief Phil Foust.
Everyone got out safely. The Red Cross is providing the family with financial assistance for food and clothing.
