ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- A new program in Albany County makes women safer by teaching them self-defense. Albany District Attorney, David Soares and Albany County Sheriff, Craig Apple joined together to support the Albany County RAD team.

RAD stands for Rape Aggression Defense. It's a program that shows women what to do, if they're ever attacked.

"What we're seeing in our county is reductions, in incidents involving rape and other assaults to women. However, one case is one case too many," said Soares.

In the U.S., one out of every six women has been a victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime.
