Police chase leads to arrest in Schenectady
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A Schenectady man is facing several charges after police say he led them on a chase.
Police say Edwin Villalongo was driving at a high rate of speed. They say when he was pulled over, an officer told him to get out of the car, but he refused and drove off. Police say he then intentionally tried to hit a marked police car.
Officers chased him until Villalongo hit a dead end. He then got out of the car and ran off, but officers eventually caught up with him. Villalongo was arrested after a struggle.
He's facing several charges including reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing a police officer, resisting arrest and others. He was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for menacing.
