SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Team USA clinches a playoff spot with another win in the World Junior Championship tournament. Earlier Monday morning, U.S.A. beat Slovakia with a one sided 9-3 thumping.

Local athlete, Shayne Gostisbehere helped out as well. He added an assist in the first period to put team USA up 3-1.

However, he also spent a bit of time in the penalty box. He was called for slashing major and game misconduct.

Gostisbehere is a defender for Union College.
