ULSTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A group of people in the Hudson Valley are playing the role of angels, making miracles happen for some local families this holiday season.

The "Everyday Angels" held an event Sunday for area shelters and 55 families who they adopted for the holidays. Everyone came together to enjoy a pizza party at Primo's in Clintondale. The angels ensure that adopted families and people in shelters have presents for Christmas.

Organizers say they're always willing to help anyone who needs it, any time of year.

"All year round. A lot of times we look at the holidays, we do a big crunch on them and then the rest of the year people are still struggling. That’s not our goal. Our goal is to help them every day, throughout the year, not just the holidays," said Pamela Bayer, Everyday Angels PR Representative.

In the organization's first nine months, Everyday Angels has held a number of events in the community.
