ALBANY, N.Y. -- Preparations are underway at the Capital City Rescue Mission for their annual Christmas dinner. Volunteers are hard at work preparing food for the big meal.
The mission is expecting to serve as many as three thousand meals on Christmas day, so that's about 700 pounds of yams and, 800 pounds of ham. Everything is prepared fresh, and for those who can't stay and eat, takeout meals are available.
"Nothing is canned, everything is home made so you have hundreds of volunteers throughout the week and on Christmas day who will be here helping to make this all happen,” said Perry Jones, Executive Director.
Christmas gifts will also be available for all who come. Dinner is served from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Pearl location.
