ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Stewart's Holiday Match is inching up to the million dollar mark, and organizers want to surge past that level for the holidays.

Stewart's matches 100 percent of customer donations. Money goes to local children's foundations. As of Tuesday, the dollar amount was up to $990,000 with the Stewart's match.

"Here's how it happens. You come in for a hard roll, maybe a coffee. You have change left over. If it fits your budget, drop it off, we'll match it with no administrative costs and it goes right in," said Tom Mailey, Stewart’s Shops spokesman.

Last year, $1.4 million was raised.
