ALBANY, N.Y. -- A local company is lending a helping hand to make sure some families in need have a nice Christmas. Prime Commercial Lending in Albany donated $5,000 to struggling families in the Capital Region.
The company gave out $500 gift cards to Toys R Us to 10 families. One 14 year old boy nominated his mother, who was recently laid off.
"He is an incredible kid. He always thinks about someone else before himself. I'm just happy we are going to have a nice Christmas," said Mesha Thompson, a Schenectady resident.
"I did this for my brother and mom so they have a good Christmas this year," said Marquis Thompson.
Marquis also received three tickets to a Knicks game. The Thompson family will be picked up in a limo the day of the game.
