NEW YORK -- In honor of a fallen Marine, flags across the state will be flown at half staff Monday. Lance Corporal Anthony Denier, 26, of Mechanicville was killed on December 2nd in Afghanistan.

He enlisted in the Marines when he was 24 and was sent overseas this past October.

Calling hours will be held Monday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the American Legion in Mechanicville. His funeral will take place Tuesday at 11 a.m. followed by his burial at Saratoga National Cemetery that afternoon.

Governor Cuomo released a statement which reads: “I extend my deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and fellow Marines. We will honor his service and sacrifice, and we are grateful for his dedication to our nation."
