MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. -- The court battle over the 46th State Senate district continues, as the judge in the case takes a look at contested ballots. A judge must decide whether to count more than 870 contested ballots with the majority of the objections coming from George Amedore's camp.

Republicans are challenging more than 650 ballots, while more than 200 ballots are being challenged by the Democrats.

Ballot counting ended earlier this week. The new count shows Amedore holding onto a small 110 vote lead over Cecilia Tkacyzk. Many of the contested votes are in Ulster County, where Tkacyzk received a large amount of support.

After the judge rules on the legality of the ballot challenges, the ruling will likely be appealed.
