Ellenville man sentenced to state prison
ELLENVILLE, N.Y. -- An Ellenville man has been sentenced to one to three years in prison after he crashed his car last October, killing his wife.
According to the Ulster County District Attorney's office, Claude Moody, 53, pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in October. Officials say Moody was driving under the influence of both alcohol and prescription drugs when he crashed his SUV into a construction area in the Town of Rochester.
His wife, Demetra Barnes Moody, 55, died.
His step-daughter was also in the car and was injured in the crash.
