SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- Troopers arrested a Lake George man who they say tried to rob a store before sending troopers on a chase. Police say a trooper was driving north on State Route 9 in the Town of Wilton Wednesday afternoon when he saw a vehicle pulled off the road near Saratoga Wine and Spirits.

Police say Yvon Majeus, 36, came running out of the store, jumped into his car and sped off. The trooper chased the man up Route 9 and onto Northern Pines Road at speeds up to 100 miles per hour.

Police say troopers finally caught up with Majeus north of Ballard Road.

He's been charged with attempted robbery, unlawful fleeing of a police officer and several vehicle and traffic charges. He is being held at Saratoga County Jail without bail.
