ALBANY, N.Y. -- The man who police say brought mercury to Albany Medical Center's cafeteria earlier this year is expected to plead in court Thursday.

Martin Kimber of Ulster County has been charged with tampering with a consumer product, in addition to disposing of hazarding waste in a dangerous manner, and without a permit.

Investigators said Kimber was seen on surveillance video placing a substance on items throughout the cafeteria and on heating elements used in food preparation at the hospital back in March.

During a search of Kimber's home, detectives said they found two jars of mercury, 21 guns, and literature reflecting sympathy for domestic terrorism. They said Kimber was a former patient at Albany Med and also worked as a pharmacist at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
