TROY, N.Y. -- The Collar City's annual Turkey Trot may have come and gone, but the spirit of giving is still in the air this holiday season.

Each year, Turkey Trot runners, along with residents, provide donations to local charities. All told, the City of Troy was able to donate more than $12,000 to three local charities. They include the Troy Boys and Girls Club, the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club and the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

"We are very proud to be a part of it. The money will go a long way to help us do our job. There are a lot of hungry people in our community. It is our job to help feed those people. This is the type of support that makes that possible," said Mark Quandt, Regional Food bank Executive Director.

The CEO of Sports Sign-Up, Anthony Bruno, also presented a check of more than $10,000 to the City of Troy.
