ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- No text is worth dying for. That's the powerful message AT&T delivered to Schalmont students before the holiday weekend. It's part of a national program called "It can wait."

So far, more than a million AT&T customers made the pledge not to text and drive.

Schalmont High school officials hope their students join the campaign as well.

Student Joe Caldera said, "Young drivers, not very experienced, some of them have problems driving as it is without being distracted, and adding distractions, it scares me a little bit."

Student Joe Neri said, "Texting and driving isn't worth it, really, that's about it.

According to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, drivers who text while they drive are 23 times more likely to be involved in a crash.
