ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 73-year-old man who disappeared into the woods after his daughter-in-law was shot to death two months ago has been accused of killing her.

A Rockland County grand jury has handed down a murder indictment against Eugene Palmer. Prosecutors say Palmer has been charged with second degree murder.

Investigators say Palmer disappeared into Harriman State Park after shooting Tammy Palmer with a shotgun. They say his truck was found inside the park, but after days of searching, he was never found. They say he was trained to survive in the wilderness, owned many guns and was an avid hunter.

If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, you're asked to give New York State Police a call.
