POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- City of Poughkeepsie Police are searching for a suspect who they say shot a man early Wednesday morning. Police said they responded to an apartment on Carroll Street around 6:00 a.m. for a reported gunshot victim.

According to police, when they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man was several gunshot wounds to the head. Police said the victim was conscious and alert when they arrived. He was then taken to Saint Francis Hospital where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Police said the victim's relatives were in the apartment at the time of the incident, but have not cooperated with police.
