The first snow storm of the season

The snow we're getting is actually late compared to last year when our area had an October snow. Our Christian Farrell has more on what people think about this first sign of the winter season.

MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- "I don't like the winter time," said Middletown resident Sharonda Fisher.

No one could blame Fisher for not enjoying a cold, windy, snowy day Wednesday in the City of Middletown. The calendar has just turned to November. The leaves aren't even gone yet and there's already snow on the ground.

"It's crazy!" said Fisher.

And it's absolutely unbearable according to Marie Grosso.

"I hate the snow. I don't like being cold," said Grosso.

Snow and the unseasonable chilly weather aren't at all popular with many people still trying to recover from Superstorm Sandy. However, there are some like Eric Lopez who smile at the sight of a snowflake.

"I just can't wait for it to really fall," said Lopez.

Ad then there's Matthew Gerald.

"What do you make of this weather?" our reporter asked.

"'Tis the season," said Gerald.

Gerald’s right. The holiday decorations do back him up. According to Gerald, November starts the "snowy months."

"From now until January, February," he said.

"Then come March?" our reporter asked.

"No more in March," said Gerald.

Having already lost an hour of daylight this week and now with the snow, you'd be hard pressed to tell anyone around here it's not already winter.
