CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- In the 102nd Assembly District, republican incumbent Pete Lopez has defeated retired Albany police officer Jimmy Miller.

Lopez was first elected in 2006. This will be his fourth term in office.

A Schoharie native, Lopez has championed recovery efforts after Tropical Storm Irene.

Miller conceded in a statement, saying in part, "This was a very rewarding experience... My hope is that the voters continue their commitment to staying involved and hold their representatives accountable..."
