Driver leaves injured passenger in vehicle after rollover crash
SCHOHARIE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A man has been charged after police say he left his injured passenger after a rollover accident. It happened early Saturday just before 1:30 a.m. on State Route 30 in Middleburgh.
State Police say they found the empty car about 100 feet off the road in a field. After a quick search, they found the driver fled into the field, but his passenger, Frank McDonnell, 41, was found near the scene suffering from a head injury. He was taken to Albany Medical Center.
Troopers found the driver, Johnnie Brown, 21, after a search of the fields. He was charged with DWI and other traffic violations and other charges are pending.
