TROY, N.Y. -- The buildings damaged in the latest suspicious fire in Troy are taken down on Monday night. Three buildings on 6th Avenue were damaged by two different fires on Sunday. They are among about ten suspicious fires reported over the last month in the Collar City.
Troy's Mayor said police patrols are being increased as they try to find whoever is responsible.
"We actually initiated it last night. Two firefighters were here at the scene all evening, we put an extra police patrol on last night to stay on. We also instituted an extra fire patrol tonight which is the same concept, two officers riding around in the area looking for anything suspicious," said Lou Roasmilia, (D) Troy Mayor.
Rosamilia said an extra detective has also been added to help with the investigation.
