SAUGERTIES, N.Y. -- Police arrest two men after they said they stole copper piping from two houses in the town of Saugerties. Police said it happened on Monday around 2:00 p.m. on State Route 32 when Lawrence Williams, 26, and Richard Ahrens, 32, forced their way into the houses and stole the piping.

They are both charged with burglary and criminal mischief, both felonies, along with possession of burglar tools and unlawful possession of marijuana. They are being held in the Ulster County Jail.
