GLASGOW, SCOTLAND -- The Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band wins the world championship. The band won the title on Saturday in Glasgow, Scotland.

YNN caught up with the band in July before they left for the competition. They beat 25 other bands from Scotland and Canada to take the honor of World Champions of the Novice Juvenile Division, and was the only U.S. band to place first in their division.

The Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band is the only competing juvenile pipe band in the northeast United States, and they practice regularly in Colonie. In the two years that they have gone overseas, 2007 and 2009, the band placed third.
