SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Monday night marks the biggest fundraiser of the year for a local organization that helps people deal with things like poverty, addiction and homelessness.

The Peter Young Foundation hosted its annual gala at the Saratoga National Golf Course. The foundation provides, alcohol and drug rehab, affordable housing and job training and is funded by private donations. It's been in existence for 54 years and has a statewide network of support, stretching from New York City to Buffalo.

“You have to have treatment to keep their thinking cap on and you have to provide safe affordable housing to make their life possible, where they can recover in a peaceful setting. And then you have to have a job. So we try to train for employment,” said foundation creator Father Peter Young.

Father Young says the program has seen a lot of success over the years, thanks to the generosity of their donors.
