ALBANY, N.Y. -- A fund has been set up to help a member of a local band who was seriously injured at an Albany apartment.

Last Saturday night, two members of local band "Digital Dharma" were standing on a second floor balcony at an Ontario Street apartment when the railing gave way. The two men fell to the ground landing on cinder blocks.

Eli Ramos, 20, was taken to Albany Medical Center and is now paralyzed from the waist down, with little mobility in his arms. The other victim, Steven Mink, 25, said he received 20 staples in his head and cracked both his sternum and ribs.

Mink and another band member recently started a fundraiser to help Ramos.

"It was mostly Aaron," Mink said. "He came to me when I was in the hospital, and he said we should start up a fund to help Eli because it's going to be so expensive. It's such a tragic accident."
