SCOTIA, N.Y. -- The sounds of Flame took over Scotia's Freedom Park Wednesday night.
All 12 of Flame's band members have some form of physical or mental disability, but they don't let them get in the way of showcasing their talents.
Since forming in Fulton County in 2003, the band has traveled across the country and the world, playing about 100 shows a year.
Members say it gives them an opportunity to do something they never thought they could accomplish.
“Everybody has limitations, but I don't let that stop me I keep following my dream. I’m living my dream right now and how many people can say that?” said Adrienne Phillips, vocalist and keyboard player for Flame.
Playing in the band also helps members earn an income. Each musician is paid per hour they perform.
