SEATTLE, W.A. -- Schenectady native Casper Wells was called up from AAA just about a week ago by the Seattle Mariners. Since then, his hitting has improved dramatically.

Well is hitting .524 since his call up. He has at least one hit in all seven games he's played, and he's had multiple hits in four of those seven games. He's raised his batting average from .213 to .309 on the season.

Seattle had the night off Thursday, but they're back in action Friday against San Diego Padres.
