ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Common Council plans to finalize some details of the downtown parking permit ordinance tonight. The council passed the plan in April, and is now looking to vote on the parking zone boundaries and street designations. The plan is expected to go into effect on October 1st.
The ordinance says a car can't be parked for more than two consecutive hours a day between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays within the permit area.
A parking permit would cost residents $25, and any vehicle parked in violation would get a $45 ticket.
