GARDINER, N.Y. -- A skydiving jump gone terrible wrong in Gardiner, claims the lives of two men. It happened Friday afternoon right outside a skydiving school on Sand Hill Road, where one of the men was an instructor.
According to police, Alexander Chulsky, 25, and his student, David Windker, 42, were doing a tandem jump when the accident happened.
Witnesses at the scene told police that it appeared to be caused by a parachute malfunction, but the school's owner told YNN that the parachute opened and worked fine. He also noted that all of his instructors are trained and certified, adding that Chulsky was a great guy and had been teaching at the school since last year.
Autopsies are being performed and the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
