ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany County District Attorney David Soares is set to announce his run for reelection today. Soares first took office in 2005, after defeating incumbent DA Paul Clyne. Soares will go up against attorney Lee Kindlon in the Democratic primary.

Kindlon resigned from his position with the Albany County alternate public defender's office to focus on his campaign. Soares will make his announcement this morning at Academy Park.
