OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Investigators are a step closer to what caused a crash that killed a State Trooper in Hastings Friday night.
After reviewing the patrol vehicle's tracking system, they said Trooper Amanda Anna turned around on County Route 37 and may have been in pursuit of another vehicle when she lost control.
Anna, a six-year veteran of the force, crashed around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
State Police said her vehicle struck a guardrail, went airborne and overturned several times. Trooper Anna was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where she died from her injuries early yesterday morning.
She leaves behind her mother, step-father, four-year-old son and fiancé.
Troop D public information officer Jack Keller said this is a hard time for her family, but also for her colleagues who responded to the scene.
