ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Albany Police Department is making sure babies and toddlers stay safe by hosting a Child Safety Seat Check Up.

Parents were given hands on lessons on how to properly install their child's safety seat and make sure they remain safe.

Traffic educators say it is important to keep your child in a rear facing seat until they are two-years-old. Officials say over 90 percent of car seats are used improperly.

Officials encourage parents to seek out a safety technician.
