Suzanne's Law passes the House

A bill named for a missing UAlbany student passed legislation on Capitol Hill.

"Suzanne's Law" was passed yesterday, as part of the Amber Alert national network. It's namesake is Suzanne Lyall, who disappeared in 1998.

The law requires local authorities to notify the national crime information center right away if anyone aged 18 through 21 becomes missing.

Police often wait 24 hours before accepting a missing persons report for someone over 18.

Lyall was 19-years-old at the time of her disappearance.
