ALBANY, N.Y. -- It should be good news for the safety of some 170 thousand commuters who drive local bridges every day.
The Patroon Island Bridge and the Twin Bridges are set for major overhauls. They're two of 17 bridges in the Capital Region getting new state funding.
It's part of 2,000 miles of roads and 110 bridges being repaired statewide.
More than $20 million will be put toward the Twin Bridges alone.
Officials estimate it will bring nearly 20,000 jobs statewide.
