President Obama picks Siena to win first round
U.S. -- President Barack Obama has apparently learned a lesson from last year and picked Siena to win its first round matchup in the NCAA Tournament.
Last year, the president picked Ohio State to beat Siena in the first round. Not only did the Saints upset Ohio State last year, but they then nearly beat number 1 seed Louisville.
Siena isn't the only New York underdog the president is picking first round.
"I like Cornell, which gave Kansas a run for its money," he said. "I think they've got a terrific team...and Siena. Look, I feel bad for Purdue. Overall though, I got killed in my bracket last year in the first round. I ended up picking the winner, but the first round just killed me, I'm hoping that any mistakes I made you corrected."
The president picked the Kansas Jayhawks to win the whole thing. He has Siena losing in the second round to Texas A & M.
Siena's first round game against Purdue is Friday in Spokane, Washington.
