BAND-AID Magic Vision
When not putting them on for fun, kids are often times a crying, screaming mess when a bandage is needed for an actual boo-boo. Band-Aid is hoping to help calm your child down through its new Magic Vision app.
When using a Muppets-themed Band-Aid, you point your mobile device at it. Through augmented reality, the child sees one of three characters pop up over the band-aid to help entertain them and work them through the trauma. Kermit sings Rainbow Connection, Miss Piggy struts the catwalk and has you take her picture and Gonzo sticks to the screen of your device urging you to try to shake him off.
Band-Aid Magic Vision is a free app for iPhones and iPads. Developers say it is not designed to work with the iPod Touch.

Happi Full Throttle
An augmented reality app called "Happi Full Throttle" helps calm kids on long car rides by allowing them to drive along with you.
The app overlays one of four dashboards onto the real world, from either a fire truck, race car, helicopter or submarine. Nearly everything on the dashboard is interactive. Children can flip on the siren, honk the horn and turn on the windshield wipers. All the steering wheels also turn automatically when the child turns the device.
