TROY, N.Y. -- Campbell Avenue in Troy is expected to reopen sometime in July, which isn't a moment too soon for area residents.
A meeting was held Wednesday to give residents an update on repairs being done to the road.
It's been closed since the end of February, when engineers found that the hillside was unstable.
Residents say traffic has been a nightmare in the area since the closure.
Mayor Lou Rosamilia said it's going to be an expensive project to get the road back to normal, but safety has to come first.
"FEMA has been in touch with us. We've talked to them about it," the mayor said. "They've inspected the site. They're aware of it. We've done the paperwork, otherwise we'd be required to bond that money."
The city says it will continue to give updates on its website.
