Professional Background- Former Chief of the Gaithersburg, MD Police Department where he established a permanent school resource officer and implemented a beat plan for officers, as well as community outreach
- Resigned his position in 2010, 2 ½ years after he was appointed
- Retired after 26 years with the Montgomery County Maryland Police Department, most recently serving as Assistant Chief from 2002-2007 in both the Management Services and Field Services Bureaus
- Oversaw a $150 million upgrade to the county’s emergency communications system, instituted counter-terrorism training for officers and worked to strengthen the department’s relationship with the FBI
