• Former Deputy Chief of the Detroit Police Department where he was Commanding Officer of the Risk Management Bureau whose units included Labor Relations, the Office of Civil Rights, as well as Training
• Served as Commanding Officer of the Office of Civil Rights where he served as a liaison between Detroit, the US Department of Justice and a federal monitor
• From 1998-2001, was a shift commander for Detroit’s downtown precinct and Special Operations Unit commander, supervising plainclothes officers' narcotics investigations and working with area schools, businesses and community organizations to develop grassroots crime prevention programs
• Currently a part-time adjunct professor at Wayne State University, teaching Criminal Investigations
