NEW YORK STATE -- Time Warner Cable says phone service has now been restored to most customers after an outage caused issues for some digital phone customers across the state Tuesday.

A spokesperson for the company says there is an investigation into the issue in order to prevent future problems. There's still no information on what may have caused the outage.

While most of the customers have service back, Time Warner Cable says there is still some residual impact.

A company spokesperson told YNN, "While the bulk of the intermittent phone issue was resolved last night, some customers may be experiencing residual impact, as we continue to restore all impacted customers with full service. We had customers who experienced different levels of impact so we have been pursuing a comprehensive approach to complete total resolution."
